Making the First Sale

Big month. Announced my $1M ARR in 12 months challenge. Decided on business idea, name & domain. Set up a landing page. Drove traffic to it with paid ads. And finally validated the idea with my first sale. Learned a lot in the process which will share below.

🧠 Key Insights

1. Done is Better than None.

After a week of trying to perfect a landing page, I realised I just needed to get it out there. “Done is better than none” became my motto. This mindset pushed me forward with my landing page, Figma prototype, and ads. Seek progress over perfection. Momentum is everything.

2. Consistency is Key

Learning Figma was brutal - I’m no designer. But I committed to 3-hour daily blocks to learn the basics of UI & UX (If you’re new to design too: UI = User Interface, UX = User Experience, Figma = top tool for creating both). After a week of this, I had three prototypes ready - leading to my first sale. Consistency is the real key. Schedule time daily, and you’ll get there.

3. Stay Focused on Outcomes. Be Flexible on Plan

My outcome: reach $1M ARR in a 12 months. My initial plan: Be a “solopreneur” & build it all solo. I quickly learned two things: I overestimated AI tools (like Replit) for non-techies, and underestimated how long “simple” tasks would take (like building a landing page on Carrd). So I pivoted. I’m now planning to outsource my weaknesses: design and tech, and focus on my strengths: product, growth, marketing. The lesson? Commit to your goal fully, but be flexible on the “how.” Don’t get derailed by the process.

🔍️ AI Tool of the Month

Chat GPT 🥇

I know, not very original - but indispensable. This month, ChatGPT was my virtual co-founder: brainstorming ideas, naming the business, guiding me through domains, Figma prototypes, ad setup... If you’re not using it daily, start.

Pro tip: stuck on something technical? Screenshot it, paste it in ChatGPT, and ask for step-by-step help - it was a game-changer for me.
